Types of Braces

Traditional Braces

Braces vary in appearance. Traditional braces are made of stainless steal and attach to the cheek side of the teeth. These may or may not have colored elastic surrounding them. The braces are designed to enable the orthodontists to move teeth 3 dimensionally.

Porcelain Braces

If you would love to have straighter teeth, but cringe at the thought of wearing metal braces with rubber bands, clear braces may be a perfect solution. These clear, nearly invisible braces are made of porcelain and attach to the cheek side of the teeth.  They are designed to move teeth 3 dimensionally, while providing a camouflaged look.

Invisalign

Invisalign clear braces offer an incredible, virtually invisible alternative to traditional braces. With the Invisalign system, our patients can discreetly straighten teeth and improve their smiles.

Dr. Batastini is certified by the Invisalign company to offer patients the convenience of straightening teeth with comfortable, clear, removable aligners.

The computer-generated aligners are replaced every few weeks with a new set that moves the teeth gradually into proper alignment. These clear trays can easily be removed for eating and brushing your teeth.

Your teeth move gradually, and you’ll come in to visit our crew about every 6 weeks to check your progress. In about 9 to 15 months, you’ll have a beautifully straighter smile without sacrificing comfort and appearance.

NOTE: NOT ALL PATIENTS ARE GOOD CANDIDATES FOR THESE ALTERNATIVES. PLEASE SPEAK WITH OUR OFFICE TO GET A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT IS BEST IN YOUR PARTICULAR CASE

Colors/Colored Braces

An elastic rubber band is attached to both traditional metal and clear braces.

This small rubber elastic comes in a wide variety of colors.  They range from and not limited to clear, silver, blue, purple, red, pink, orange, green, and many more.

This is something for the kids and adults to enjoy and look forward to updating their colors every few weeks.

Retainers

retainerRemovable orthodontic appliances are used at the completion of active orthodontic treatment (braces).

These retainers are made of an acrylic that is formed to a custom model of your teeth for a perfect fit and have different appearances.

They can come from anything like the traditional pink acrylic to match your gums to a wacky tie die design.
